A Gatefold Card with a Butterfly Easel and Pocket for the May Funky Folds Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the May 2025 Funky Folds Blog Hop. This is the first 'new' blog post that I've published since starting this blog, Bronwyn Eastley Designs. 

My AddINKtive Designs website will be closing at the end of June as the costs are ridiculously expensive to maintain. Nowadays I give away more tutorials than I sell ... which I'm more than happy to do. I'd rather start afresh and not feel like I have to keep on selling tutorials just to keep my website going. I love being on the Design Team for Paper Rose Studio and I'll be focusing more on sharing my projects on You Tube and INSTA ... and here of course! 

So today marks the beginning of a new era. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by.

The Funky Folds group consists of like minded paper crafters who love to make projects with fun folds. Funky actually means "modern and stylish in an unconventional or striking way"... so we are featuring cards that are not your usual rectangle/square portrait or landscape style. Think 'easel', 'pop-up', 'gatefold', 'z-fold', 'shaped' or 3D cards etc. The list is endless ... and it now includes journals, albums etc.

All Blog Hops have an 'anything goes' theme using any type of 'funky' fold and today I'm sharing a Gatefold Card featuring the Lavender & Fairies Collection from Paper Rose Studio.


I've combined the papers and embossed die-cuts from both packs in the collection, created a drop down panel in the centre to display a Butterfly Easel Card and added a little pocket to hold a tag. 


The card measures 6x6" when closed (base 6x12"). Here's a few pics to show you how it was constructed -
