Boho Baby Z-Fold Card and Zig-Zag Album with Pop-Up Crib
Hi there. Welcome to my blog.
This month I was assigned the absolutely adorable Boho Baby Collection to 'work' with for Paper Rose Studio. I love the beautiful neutrals and greens in the collection and wanted to feature as many of the papers and embossed die-cuts that I could.
For the first project I decided to make a Z-Fold card with a pop-up baby crib.
Boho Baby Z-Fold Card
I've made a few that are similar in construction but this one is a little different because I've made the crib with the Stirling Fence Metal Cutting Die. You can see how I constructed it further down in this post.
I didn't need to add a lot of die-cuts to the card as the beautiful patterned paper is so detailed; I love the cute toy box scene!
A rectangular die-cut was added to the back of the card to provide a space to write a message.
To finish off the card I glued a cute embossed die-cut to the envelope.
My second project, a Zig-Zag Album, also has a pop-up baby crib on the inside cover.
How to Make the Baby Crib
Die-cut two 'Stirling Fences' from white cardstock and cut off half of the first section so you are left with five railings.
Turn both pieces upside down so the fence knobs become crib wheels.
Cut out two pieces of patterned paper (H)1"x (W)6" long. Glue one strip to one of the crib pieces as shown. There will be an extended piece of paper on one end.
Glue the short end of the other crib piece to the extension piece of paper and score all corners of the crib. Overlap the second strip of paper inside the crib and close up to form the 3D crib (box card section).
Measure the inside width of the crib and cut a strip of paper 1" longer than the width by 1" high. Score 1/2" in from both ends to form the tabs. Valley fold the score line and mountain fold the second. Crease both score lines with a Bone Folder.
Glue both tabs to the inside as shown, making sure that when the crib folds down, the box card insert folds flat.
Glue the back of the baby crib to the inside cover of the album so the wheels line up with the bottom edge.
Glue the teddy embossed die-cut to the insert and then add some clouds and star embossed die-cuts to the 'background' for extra embellishment.
Boho Baby Zig-Zag Album
I learned how to make a Zig-Zag album in a class that I attended last year and thought it would be a great project to show-off just about every piece of patterned paper in both 6x6 packs.
This Zig-Zag Album has tuck pockets, belly bands and notched pockets. There's a place to tuck a small photo for each month of baby's first year.
It was easy to embellish each page with the Boho Baby Embossed Die-Cuts.
Here's a collage pic of every page in the album -
