'Fairytale Christmas' Fun Fold Cards for A5 Cardstock and 6x6 Papers
Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I'm sharing three fun-fold cards made with products from the Fairytale Christmas Collection from Paper Rose Studio.
This type of card fold is perfect to 'show off' those scenic 6x6 papers and can be easily embellished with some very cute, embossed die-cuts.
A big shout out to Claire from Created the Ottaway for this brilliant fun fold idea! I have a link to Claire's instructional video further down in the post.
I'm always on the look out for card folds that make 6x6 papers 'shine' as I have containers full of paper packs/pads that size. I love Claire's design but altered her measurements slightly to suit a card base constructed from an A5 piece of cardstock. Paper Rose Studio have quite a few A5 packs of different coloured cardstock and I've chosen one of my favourites for today's projects, the absolutely beautiful Sea Mist Shimmer Cardstock.
Each card opens to reveal a pretty Christmas scene.
Card No. 1 - Girl with Reindeer
Card No. 2 - Fairy
Card No. 3 - Girl with Bluebird

Basic Instructions -
Start with a piece of A5 cardstock [(H)5-7/8" x (W)8-1/4"] (landscape) and score along the width at the 1-1/4" and 4-1/8" marks. Mountain fold the first score line and valley fold the second. Crease with a Bone Folder.
Choose a piece of 6x6 paper that has a 'scene' that will unfold when you open up the card. Use the flip side of a second piece of 6x6 for the front panel. Cut the height of your scenic 6x6 piece to 5-5/8" so your piece now measures 5-5/8" x 6". Cut 3 panel pieces - Left Piece, 2-1/4" wide, Middle Piece, 1-1/2" wide and Right Piece, 2-1/4" wide.
Position the front piece of patterned paper (left piece) to the thin folded section leaving a border around the left, top and bottom edges and a border around the inside-right section of the card (when card is 'closed'). Glue approx. half of the left side to the thin folded section.
Glue a piece of White Cardstock that measures (H) 5-5/8 x (W)1-5/8" to the inside-right section of the card so it is concealed by the left piece of patterned paper (on the front) when the card is closed.
Fold the card out flat and position the middle and right pieces of patterned paper so you have even borders between the panel pieces, making sure you don't glue on the middle fold line.
Cut a panel of paper from the flip side of the second piece of 6x6 measuring (H)5-5/8" x (W)2-5/8"and glue to the front panel.
Attach an embossed die-cut to the card front with foam adhesive dots.
Attach a sentiment label to the card front with foam adhesive dots.
Watch Claire's video to see how she constructed her Ta Dah! Scene Fun Fold Card and feel free to use my altered measurements if you'd prefer to use a piece of A5 Cardstock for the card base (Alternatively, you can cut two A5 pieces from one piece of A4).
I loved how these turned out and they are so quick and easy to make!
Be sure to come back on the 10th October to check out three more cards that I made with other paper collections.
